Over the last decade we have seen a sharp increase in pre-election day voting in Illinois, thanks in large part to significant changes in election laws making it easier for individuals to vote early or vote by mail.

This massive shift in the time and methods by which the Illinois electorate votes has forever changed how campaigns and political parties Get-Out-The-Vote (GOTV). It is no longer Election Day, but Election Season. Accordingly, the Illinois Republican Party is all in on the RNC’s Bank Your Vote Initiative.

The purpose of this initiative is to educate Republican voters about the critical importance of pre-election day voting and significantly increase the number of Republicans who vote early or by mail.

While candidates and campaigns spend most of their precious time and money trying to persuade voters, the role of this Initiative is to ensure that already persuaded Republicans Get Out and Vote early.

In past cycles, top of the ticket statewide campaigns and national committees have run or provided funding for most of the Republican GOTV operations in Illinois. That was not the case in 2022. Working with relatively limited resources, the IL Republican Party built and executed a cost-efficient and effective GOTV program with the goal of increasing turnout among low-mid propensity Republicans up and down the ballot.This program turned out an additional 57,818 Republicans across our target audience. 

Our goal is to increase more Republican voting to WIN in 2024! Your vote counts. We need your vote.

If we had the resources, this could have been conducted Statewide with the same effect resulting in an additional 147,792 Republicans that voted – 3,061 additional Republican Voters per State Representative District.
Looking ahead to 2024, we are laser focused on raising funds to implement a plan that expands the size and scope of our 2022 program. However, this will depend on our financial resources.
The funds raised through the Bank Your Vote campaigns will support our ability to build a comprehensive and effective GOTV program. Funds raised for this cause will be segregated for this cause only.
The Bank Your Vote will energize the Illinois Republican Party’s Bank Your Vote effort and other GOTV programs by raising funds to educate voters about the benefits of voting early and building momentum for the 2024 General Elections.
